Cross Section Help |
Intervals of the exceedance probability for a particular day are projected
into a cross section of the river channel at the forecast point. Credible
intervals become zones, which are shaded in six colors, darker around the
median, and lighter toward the extremes. The zones can be interpreted in
three ways.
Blue/Brown - it is equally likely (probability 0.5) that the river stage at 7:00 am will be either below or above the Blue/Brown seam.
Dark Blue, Dark Brown - the probability is 0.5 that the river stage at 7:00 am will fall inside one of these zones.
Medium Blue, Dark Blue, Dark Brown, Medium Brown - the probability is 0.9 that the river stage at 7:00 am will fall inside one of these zones.
Probability that at 7:00 am the river stage will fall inside the zone:
| 0.045 | |
| 0.20 | |
| 0.25 | |

Probability that at 7:00 am a point inside the zone will be flooded:
| 0.005 - 0.05 | |
| 0.05 - 0.25 | |
| 0.25 - 0.50 | |
| 0.50 - 0.75 | |
